In this article, you’ll learn how to hand over your video to a colleague for further editing — in just a few simple steps.

Use the handover feature to collaborate efficiently on videos together.

Hand over a video

Follow these steps to hand over your video:

  1. Open the detail page of your video.

  2. Click the “Hand Over Video” button on the right-hand side.

  3. A new window will open.

  4. Select the person you want to hand the video over to.

  5. Decide whether you want to transfer the original video or a copy.

  6. Finally, click “Hand Over.”

💡 Note: Draft changes that are still in the editor cannot be handed over. Please make sure to update your video before starting the handover.

 

📩 After the Handover

  • Your colleague automatically receives an email notification that a video has been handed over to them.

  • The video will appear in their Omnora account.

  • The video link remains unchanged, so existing shares and permissions will continue to work.

Privacy note: When you hand over a video, all original files used in that video are also copied to the new user. They will find these files in their media library.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Can multiple users work on the same video at the same time?
No. Currently, a video can only exist in one account at a time and can only be edited by one user simultaneously.

Can I still hand over a video if the link has already been shared?
Yes, absolutely. The video link remains unchanged after the handover, and viewers won’t notice any difference.
