Create chapters based on your scenes or add custom chapters

Overview

In this article, you’ll learn how to easily add chapters to your video. Once a chapter is created, a chapter marker will appear in your video.

Chapters help your viewers navigate through your video effortlessly. With chapters in place, they can conveniently jump between different sections using the arrows in the player.

Create a New Chapter

For every scene you create, a placeholder for a chapter is automatically generated. If you haven’t defined your own chapters yet, simply enter a title into the corresponding placeholder — the chapter will be created automatically.

  1. Open your video in the editor

  2. Click the “Chapters” tab on the left-hand side

  3. The Chapters page will open

  4. You’ll see an automatic placeholder for each scene

  5. Enter a title in the placeholder field

  6. Your chapter has been created

💡 Tip: The newly created chapter automatically takes the start time of the corresponding scene.

Create a Custom Chapter

You can also create individual chapters independent of your scenes — for example, if you want to add an additional chapter within a single scene.

  1. Open your video in the editor

  2. Click the “Chapters” tab on the left-hand side

  3. The Chapters page will open

  4. Click on the timeline in your video on the right-hand side

  5. Click the “Add Chapter” button below the video

  6. A new placeholder with a timestamp will appear

  7. Enter a title in the text field

  8. Your chapter has been created

 

Delete a Chapter

  • To delete a chapter, simply remove its title from the text field.

  • You can also delete a custom chapter by clicking the trash icon next to it.

  • When you delete a chapter, the placeholders for your scenes remain intact — so you can reuse them at any time without having to create new ones.

Chapters can also be integrated into quiz questions, allowing you to redirect viewers to a specific section after they’ve answered a question. Learn more

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I place a chapter within a scene?
Yes, that’s possible. Simply create a custom chapter, select the desired time in your video, and click the “Add Chapter” button.

What happens to my chapter if I move my scene?
If your chapter is based on a scene’s start time, its timestamp will automatically adjust when you move the scene in the list.

Can I use multiple chapters?
Yes, you can create as many chapters as you like. All created chapters are neatly listed under the “Chapters” tab.

Can I hide or disable chapters?
No, currently all created chapters are automatically visible to viewers. A hide function is not available at the moment.

Can I preview my chapters?
Yes. Click the menu icon in the video player to open the contents menu. There, you can see all created chapters — exactly as your viewers will see them.

Can I change the order of chapters?
Yes. You can change the order by adjusting the time of a chapter.
If your chapter is linked to a scene, simply move the scene in the list on the left — the chapter will automatically move along with it.

Can I create chapters in other languages?
That’s not possible yet.
