Marius Leuchtner, Head of Recruiting and HR Development at Hauraton, is responsible for employee training. Given the numerous demands on one hand, and a small HR department on the other, this is challenging. To work efficiently, he relies on user-generated content. "Of course, you can have e-learnings professionally produced. But we decided that the effort and benefit were disproportionate. That's why we rely on user-generated content," says Leuchtner. Content is created by employees as learning videos in Omnora and then integrated into the LMS via the xAPI format with just a few clicks.

Hauraton deliberately relies on video as a learning medium, which, according to Leuchtner, is currently the most relevant medium. He sees advantages primarily in its flexibility: "If we only had in-person training, our machines would stop running. With on-demand videos, everyone can learn when it suits them. This also works very well for us on mobile devices." But video is not only popular with the video-savvy younger generation of employees: "We also have employees who are nearing retirement and are creating videos with Omnora and sharing their knowledge."
Since the introduction of AI features in Omnora, the production of learning videos has taken a big step towards even greater efficiency. "Previously, we needed two to three takes per video, plus additional editing work. For a five-minute video, we used to need about an hour," Leuchtner calculates. "Today, with Omnora's AI, I can create a complete video from a PowerPoint presentation in just a few minutes." And there's no need to compromise on quality. The text-to-speech function, one of Omnora's AI-based technologies, converts the script – which can also be AI-generated – into a pleasant and human-sounding voiceover. "You don't immediately notice that the voice is AI-generated. The result is really good and fits perfectly," Leuchtner enthuses.

A concrete example of Omnora's use at Hauraton is a mandatory energy-saving training for all employees. Here, AI generated a complete video from an existing PowerPoint presentation, which was then seamlessly integrated into the LMS.
Hauraton needs to conduct 60 to 70 such training sessions per year. These are usually short topics that need to be conveyed clearly. "We've completely switched to video for this in recent years. We've achieved enormous efficiency gains, and employees appreciate being able to watch a short video instead of attending an in-person training session." The quality of the videos is so high that hardly any manual post-processing is needed, allowing videos to be produced quickly.
